LOWER, UPPER, PROPER FUNCTIONS

LOWER, UPPER, and PROPER are text functions that provide different ways to manipulate text in Excel:

  • LOWER: This function converts all the characters in a text string to lowercase letters. =LOWER(text)

  • UPPER: This function converts all the characters in a text string to uppercase letters. =UPPER(text)

  • PROPER: This function capitalizes the first letter of each word in a text string, while converting the rest of the letters to lowercase. =PROPER(text)

These functions are useful when you want to standardize the case of text, format names or titles consistently, or perform any other text transformations based on case requirements.
