AND/OR FUNCTIONS

The AND and OR functions provide a means to verify the satisfaction of multiple conditions. These functions are particularly valuable when combined with the IF function.

The AND function is employed to determine if all criteria have been fulfilled.

Tha AND syntax is: =AND(logical1, [logical2], …)

The OR function is utilized to assess whether at least one criterion has been fulfilled.

The OR syntax is: =OR(logical1, [logical2], …)

As mentioned earlier, these functions are highly advantageous when combined with the IF function. Let's examine their combination:

AND combined with IF function:

=IF(AND(condition1, condition2), value if true, value if false)

In this scenario, if both condition1 and condition2 are satisfied, the IF function will yield the value if true. If either of these conditions is not met, the IF function will produce the value if false.

OR combined with IF function:

=IF(OR(condition1, condition2), value if true, value if false)

In this case, if at least one of the conditions, either condition1 or condition2, is fulfilled, the IF function will return the value if true. If none of these conditions are met, the IF function will output the value if false.
