The COUNTIFS function allows us to evaluate multiple criteria across multiple columns and count the number of instances where all criteria are met.

The syntax of this formula is: =COUNTIFS(criteria_range1,criteria1,[criteria_range2],[criteria2]…)

  1. criteria_range1 – What is the first range we would like to check?

  2. criteria1 – What’s the first criteria to check in this range?

  3. criteria_range2 (optional) – What is the second range we would like to check?
